News in sight at Badini Gaetano: after more than 50 years of honored career, two “Minali Macchine srl” brand polishing machines have “retired”: the first purchased in 1969 and the second in 1971.
The Minali company has a long history and was founded in 1956 as a mechanical workshop on the initiative of the 4 Minali brothers: after a series of studies and the creation of prototypes, it created its first automatic polishing machine for marble and granite in order to facilitate the polishing work of the laboratories, which until then was done manually.
Subsequently, in the 1970s it became an industry and also produced cutters for marble, block cutters and other stone processing machinery.
Following a further expansion, the company also began the construction of machinery for working iron such as shears and presses of various kinds.
Today it is well present on the market with different types of polishing machines, reliable and extremely durable over time.
Our old Minali polishers in the 70s were truly innovative compared to the polishing systems in use at the time as, while the other polishing machines could work only one piece at a time, the Minali allowed to work a whole slab with considerable time saving, thus ensuring greater productivity compared to the machine that worked the single piece.
As regards the functioning of these machines, it was manual and it was necessary to count the passes performed and at the end of each cycle to change the type of wheel until the desired finish was reached.
The two new Minali Multimatic Model T.A. 60 for smoothing, polishing and brushing marble and granite slabs have the same structure from an aesthetic point of view as their ancestors but what has changed considerably are the mechanical parts, undoubtedly more precise and sophisticated than in the past.
Furthermore, these polishers are equipped with software that regulates the speed of execution and the number of passes to be performed. These machines are not designed for large quantities of finished products but undoubtedly favor the quality of the finish to be obtained.
For large quantities, today belt polishers are used which, however, are not as versatile and certainly not as long-lasting as the Minali machines.
