It is said that in the quarries, to hear if a block of Botticino has defects or cracks, the quarrymen place their ears on the block and tap on it with a large Botticino stone: if the resulting sound is a tinkling like that of a bell, the material is healthy. If, on the other hand, the sound is dull and gloomy, the block will have cracks and defects.
Botticino, in addition to being unquestionably beautiful and valuable, has particularly favorable technical characteristics: remarkable compactness, low porosity and absorption values and a remarkable resistance to compression, bending and wear. For all these reasons it is perfect for practically all uses. In internal environments it is used to make floors, wall coverings, for window sills and balconies and furnishings such as living room tables. It is also perfect for outdoor environments, since it has considerable resistance and is therefore used for stairs, cladding and details of terraces and gardens.
Its neutral color makes it perfectly combinable both with neutral colors such as white, cream and dove gray and with brighter colors such as black, red and dark grey.
